Vancouver, March 21 (IANS) A Calgary-based Sikh, whose decapitated body was found last month outside the city, has been identified as Pargat Singh Kahlon, a 70-year-old who lived in a gurudwara. Releasing his picture Thursday for public help in the investigations, the police said Kahlon was identified through DNA tests.
He went missing Feb 12 after he was seen withdrawing cash from an ATM. On Feb 18, Kahlon’s headless body was found in a small canal near the town of Chestermere, which lies east of Calgary.
His severed head has not yet been discovered.
Though the police have not yet given the cause of death, they said the victim might have been subjected to violence.
They said Kahlon’s right hand bore marks of damage.
