Six policemen killed in Iraq attacks
October 18th, 2009 - 1:35 am ICT by IANSBaghdad, Oct 18 (DPA) Six Iraqi policemen were killed and 12 injured Saturday in separate attacks near the Iraqi cities of Falluja and Kirkuk.
In Falluja, four policemen were killed and 10 wounded when a bomb targeted their truck, security sources told DPA.
In the northern city of Kirkuk, two policemen were killed and two civilians injured by a roadside bomb in the Huwaija area.
Earlier, in Ramadi, west of Baghdad, a bridge was blown up on the highway between Iraq, Syria and Jordan. A local police source told DPA that a loaded truck exploded on the bridge.
The incident came a day after gunmen blew up a wooden bridge south of Falluja connecting Ameriyat al-Falluja and Abu Ghraib towns near the Euphrates river.
