Six NATO personnel die in Afghan chopper crash
January 20th, 2012 - 4:58 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Kabul, Jan 20 (IANS) Six NATO personnel were killed in a helicopter crash in southern Afghanistan, NATO said in a press release Friday.
The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) helicopter crashed Thursday, killing six NATO service members on board, said Xinhua.
“I confirm that there was a helicopter crash in southern Afghanistan on Thursday, killing six NATO service members on board. However, there is no reported enemy activity in that area,” a spokesperson said.
The spokesperson did not provide details and the nationalities of the victims, saying “it is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities”.
