Six killed in Iraq violence
June 30th, 2010 - 11:22 pm ICT by IANSBaghdad, June 30 (DPA) Six people were killed and two others injured in related violent events in the Iraqi city of Heit, police sources said Wednesday.
A clash between police and gunmen in a crowded market in Heit, 130 km west of Baghdad, left three policemen and two gunmen dead.
A third gunman was injured in the confrontation. Police took him to the Heit teaching hospital, not knowing that he had a belt of explosives strapped to his body, police sources said.
Upon arrival, the gunman blew himself up, killing himself and critically injuring two civilians.
