Six blasts strike Banglaore, one killed(Lead)

July 25th, 2008 - 4:55 pm ICT by IANS -

Bangalore, July 25 (IANS) One person was killed and several people injured Friday when six low intensity bombs fitted with timer devices went off here in India’s IT capital. Police Commissioner Shankar Bidri said the explosions appeared to be the acts of people who wanted to terrorise the Karnataka capital.

The first three blasts took place between 1.30 p.m. and 1.45 p.m.

“We will investigate and arrest the suspects,” Bidri told reporters. “We are on complete alert.”

Badri appealed to people not to panic and to go about with their routine work. However, most shops and shopping malls immediately shut down as news of the blasts spread.
