Singapore, April 2 (Xinhua) The Singapore government has set up a task force to investigate discriminations against foreign workers, a media report said Thursday.
Singapore’s Manpower Minister Gan Kim Yong said Thursday the task force will detect malpractices such as failure to pay workers’ salaries on time and poor housing conditions.
Gan stressed the government will take strict action against employers who provide poor housing for their workers, Channelnewsaisa TV reported.
This year, 217 employers have been found to provide poor housing for their workers.
