Mar 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) History channel embarked on a new show on Mar 3, Tuesday, that explores all the myths and legends surrounding the Shroud of Turin, and attempts to unravel the mystery of one of the most enigmatic of archeological objects found till date. The show, aptly named “The Real Face Of Jesus,” takes an insightful look into the history of the Shroud. In “The Real Face Of Jesus,” experts try to unravel the mystery of the Shroud with the help of an analysis in three dimensional mode. The show actually attempt to look into the biggest myth that surrounds the Shroud of Turin, the one that claims that there is a image of the face of Jesus Christ embedded in the Shroud.

In reality, the Shroud of Turin does feature the faint image that somewhat resembles a face, but there is no saying whether this actually is an imprint of the face of the Jewish reformer or not. Ever since the discovery of the Shroud, it has been known as the one which had been used to cover the corpse of Jesus Christ.

However, over time, it has become a much debated topic, particularly because the cloth is definitely too old for the scientists to be really able to ascertain the real age or any other information from it, as many of the information has become irrevocably lost with the passage of time. However, in the show, which is going to take place in two parts, the scientists feel that the face is actually an imprint of a real face. However, the matter still remains one of much dispute, and it is highly possible that the truth would never be fully discovered.
