Sharjah, March 21 (IANS) An international conference on Islamic contribution to science will be organised next week here under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, ruler of Sharjah and member of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Supreme Council. The four-day conference, staring March 24 entitled “Scientific Contributions of Arabs and Muslims” is organised by the Science and Humanities Faculty of Sharjah University, in association with the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, and the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, WAM reported Friday.
The conference, first of its kind, will be sponsored and supported by the Emirates Investment Group (EIG), its Chairman Sheikh Tariq bin Faisal Al Qassimi said.
It will deliberate on the epoch-making researches and findings by Arab scientists in the field of mathematics, medicine, astronomy and other branches of science.
