Sharjah ruler pardons 173 prisoners
January 13th, 2012 - 12:00 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Sharjah, Jan 12 (IANS/WAM) The ruler of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has ordered the release of 173 prisoners for showing good conduct while serving their jail terms.
Major General Humaid Al Hadidi, commander-in-chief of Sharjah Police, said ruler Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi was keen to create a sense of hope and joy in the lives of the prisoners and their families.
Hadidi hoped the ruler’s gesture would inspire the prisoners to take the course of repentance in their lives.
