Severed human heads found in cooler in MexicoMay 19th, 2009 - 8:12 pm ICT by IANS
Mexico City, May 19 (EFE) The police have found severed heads of three men inside a cooler on a roadside in southern Mexico.
The grisly find was made near a tollbooth in the Union de Isidoro Montes de Oca city, the Guerrero state Public Safety Secretariat said in a statement Monday.
The heads were wrapped in duct tape, the police said.
The killers have left a message at the site but the authorities did not reveal its contents.
The police have also found three headless bodies on the back seat of a vehicle, some two km from where the cooler was found.
The victims had been bound with duct tape, their bodies showed signs of torture and another message was left at the scene, officials said.
Mexico has been plagued by drug-related violence in recent years.
Last year, some 190 people were beheaded, majority of them in incidents involving organised crime, Mexico’s independent National Human Rights Commission said.
