Seven killed in Netherlands shooting
April 10th, 2011 - 1:08 am ICT by IANSThe Hague, April 9 (IANS) Seven people were killed and 16 others were injured Saturday when a gunman opened fire with a machinegun at a crowded shopping mall in a town in the Netherlands, Xinhua reported.
The attacker shot himself dead after the attack at the Ridderhof mall in the town of Alphen aan den Rijn, about 20 km southwest of Amsterdam.
Four of the injured are currently in critical conditions, authorities said, adding that the victims included children.
Initial probe showed the attacker, a 25-year-old male, was a local resident. The authorities have evacuated all the malls in the town for safety.
