Seven killed in Iraq car bombing
March 15th, 2010 - 2:30 pm ICT by IANSBaghdad, March 15 (IANS) At least seven people were killed and 13 wounded Monday in a car bomb explosion in Iraq’s western Anbar province, police said.
The blast took place when a booby-trapped car parked at a main road blew up in Fallujah, some 50 km west of Baghdad, a police source told Xinhua.
The attack occurred at a crowded place where many construction workers were waiting to be hired for day-long jobs.
The blast apparently missed an Iraqi army patrol which passed the scene just before the explosion.
The attack came a week after the country’s landmark parliamentary elections.
