Islamabad, July 31 (Xinhua) At least seven people were killed Thursday when a house in Pakistan’s northwestern district of Swat was hit by shells in clashes between security forces and Taliban militants, according to a TV report. Women and children were among those killed in the Deolai area of the Swat valley, Khyber TV reported.

Clashes between Taliban and security forces started Tuesday after insurgents killed three officials and kidnapped around 30 security personnel from a check post.

Pakistan’s military Wednesday said that it killed 25 Taliban militants following a major operation in the valley. Five soldiers were killed in the operation.
