November 6, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The police of Houston, Texas are worried that they may have a serial killer on the loose. This became a distinct possibility after they discovered three different women being strangled to death by unknown assailants.

Two out of the three victims had been elderly women without a home but the third one had been a young mother. The method of murder is very similar as the police found evidences of strangulations around their necks caused by either a rope or a piece of wire.

The 62 year old Carol Flood had been one of the victims who had slept in a dark alley of Houston. The police found her beaten black and blue with streaks all over her body. She had also been unclothed from the waist upwards.

Reita Long’s body had been discovered at the co-cathedral in quite the same kind of circumstances except that she had been fully clothed. Ms. Long had been a teacher before but had apparently been rendered homeless when she lost her job due to a mental illness.

A homeless man had then called the police to report another incident which pointed to the possibility of a serial killer being on prowl. The third woman, Raquel Mundy had been a young woman of 24 with two children. She had also been studying to be a medical assistant when the killer had ended all her aspirations prematurely.

The local police, in the meantime reports that they have warned all the homeless women in the area to be on a look out. They have also said to have conducted DNA tests but declined t comment on the nature of evidences recovered.
