London, Dec 19 (ANI): A real-life Santa Claus is said to have been sneaking into a park at night and hanging presents on the fir trees.

The unknown giver even decorates the trees and leaves sacks full of toys wrapped up in festive paper, leaving the rangers stunned.

“We take the toys to charity shops who are very grateful for them at this time of year,” the Daily Express quoted the park’s manager Rory Dickinson as saying.

“But it would be nice to know who the secret Santa is - it is a real Christmas riddle,” he said.

The first parcels were left more than a month ago and every morning rangers at the Millennium Coastal Park near Llanelli, South Wales, gather up the gifts so they can be distributed to needy children through charity shops.

But the next day the trees are redecorated and more presents have been left.

Some of the gifts are giveaway toys from fast food restaurants but others, including cuddly toys, toy trains and trolleys with wooden blocks, are quite pricey.

“It started off with a few trinkets and baubles being hung from our Corsican pines, which look like Christmas trees. But as we get closer to Christmas Day he is putting up more decorations and leaving loads of toys,” Dickinson said.

Staff have stayed on after the park’s gates have shut hoping to catch the festive phantom in the act - but until now, and in true Santa style, he has eluded them.

However, the rangers believe they caught a glimpse of the culprit yesterday when a man in his late 30s was seen cycling towards the park with bags hanging from his bike’s handlebars.

“We don’t know if it was our Santa - he wasn’t wearing a red costume and was clean shaven. But it’s the first time we’ve had a suspect,” a spokesman for the park added. (ANI)
