Say hello to ”The Woman Who Married the Eiffel Tower”!March 12th, 2009 - 6:00 pm ICT by ANI
New York, March 12 (ANI): An American woman who has married the Eiffel Tower belongs to a rare class of people termed as objectum sexuals or those who become love-stricken with inanimate objects.
Erika was depicted hugging her hubby and even expressing her love for him or it, in a documentary titled “The Woman Who Married the Eiffel Tower”.
She even went on to change her last name after tying the knot with the structure to be called Erika La Tour Eiffel.
The former U.S. Army soldier further spoke of her relationship with the iron tower, reports the New York Daily News.
The term “objectum sexual” was penned by Eija-Riitta Berliner-Mauer in the 1970s who ended up saying her vows to the Berlin Wall.
Debbie Mandel, author of “Addicted to Stress”, said that the object-sexual individuals tend to raise a fence between themselves and others, and the objects selected by them for romance often held sexual connotations.
She explained: “Marriage is about intimacy and being vulnerable. These women are not going to be vulnerable, and they have picked these powerful symbols to show, I don”t need a man. It can be in my brain. It’’s brain sex.”
Erika has in the past also fallen for Lance, a bow, and during her relationship with it became a world champion in archery. (ANI)
