Washington, Jan 12 (ANI): Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has revealed that she is thrilled to have signed a multiyear deal with Fox News to serve as a contributor across all its platforms.
Palin, 45, had been receiving a lot of offers from both cable and broadcast networks, starting the day she announced she was leaving the Alaska governorship, and she chose to sign up with Fox News.
“I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News,” the Politico quoted Palin as saying in the Fox announcement.
“It’s wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news,” she stated.
Palin has often been described as having the hottest brand in American politics after President Barack Obama, and Fox News is happy to have her on their side.
“Gov. Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the Fox News line-up,” Bill Shine, Fox News’ executive vice president of programming, said.
Fox said Palin will provide political commentary and analysis for Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, FoxNews.com and Fox News-produced special event political programming for Fox Broadcasting.
Palin will also host periodic episodes of Fox News’ “Real American Stories,” a series exploring inspirational real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape that will debut in 2010, the network said.
“Gov. Palin is the author of the current No. 1 New York Times best-seller, ‘Going Rogue: An American Life.’ Her book tour to over 30 cities attracted thousands of people and extensive media coverage,” the Fox announcement continued.
“Palin was the first woman to serve as governor of Alaska. She was sworn in as the 11th governor of the state in 2006 and worked on improving resource development, education, health and transportation and infrastructure development.
“In August 2008, then Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain selected Gov. Palin to run as his vice presidential candidate.
“Prior to holding the office of governor, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council in Alaska as well as two terms as the mayor and manager of Wasilla and worked as an oil and gas industry regulator,” it concluded. (ANI)
