Ryder, Vettori hit tons as New Zealand make 279

Hamilton, March 18 (IANS) Twin centuries from skipper Daniel Vettori and Jesse Ryder helped New Zealand reach 279 before being all out in the first innings against India on the first day of the first Test match here wednesday. The Kiwis made a grand recovery after going to lunch at 61 for 6.
Vettori (118) scored his third Test century while Ryder (102) got to his maiden century. They shared a crucial 186-run seventh wicket partnership to resurrect New Zealand’s innings at the Seddon Park. For India, Ishant Sharma picked up four wickets and Munaf Patel bagged three.
