- Melbourne, November 12 (ANI): Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary has strongly defended a steamy photoshoot done by the crewmembers for the company’s 2010 calendar.
The airline company head responded to the criticism by sending a copy of the calendar to “anti-fun” Labour MEP Mary Honeyball.
According to the Daily Mail, Honeyball had alleged O’Leary of “forcing” cabin crew to pose for the calendar, which has some members topless and some wearing just bikini.
The proceeds from the sale will be forwarded to the UK KIDS charity.
“Ryanair’s cabin crew volunteer to take part and this year over 800 of the airline’s 4000 cabin crew applied for this great charity event,” News.com.au quoted O’Leary as saying.
Ryanair spokesman Stephen McNamara further briefed that the company would see a total collection of fund amounting to 300,000 pounds, since the publication of first calendar in 2008.
He said: “This year’s calendar is the hottest yet and we hope to raise 100,000 pounds to help KIDS assist even more disabled children and their families in the UK.
“Those who want to help KIDS and bring a smile to someone’s face all year long should buy the calendar onboard Ryanair flights or from the Ryanair website today.”
And to make it possible, O’Leary has initiated by reportedly purchasing the first 100 copies. (ANI)
