Russian satanists sentenced for murders
July 27th, 2010 - 7:15 pm ICT by IANSMoscow, July 27 (DPA) Six Russian satanists have been handed prison sentences ranging from eight to 20 years for murdering a group of young people and eating parts of their bodies, the Moskovsky Komsomolez newspaper reported Tuesday.
A court in the city of Yaroslavl, north-east of the capital Moscow, found the defendants guilty of luring four 17-year-olds to a construction site in August 2008 and killing them as part of a satanistic ritual. The victims were found to have been stabbed multiple times.
Because the suspects were minors at the time of the attack, they were not given life sentences.
Another member of the group was also convicted of murder, but committed to a psychiatric hospital.
