Russian jailed for stabbing driver 34 times
December 19th, 2011 - 8:31 pm ICT by IANSMoscow, Dec 19 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A Russian man, who stabbed a taxi driver 34 times, has been sentenced to jail for 11 months, police said Monday. The victim, however, survived.
Alexei Buzaronov attacked the taxi driver he had hired for a trip to a village outside Kostroma city in the central Kostroma region, police investigator Olga Vakurova said.
As the car travelled along a remote road, Buzaronov stabbed the driver several times and demanded that he stop the car and hand over the keys, she said.
When the driver tried to escape on foot, Buzaronov caught him, tied him to a tree and began stabbing him some more.
“In all, he stabbed him 34 times. He then dragged the driver into the car and set off towards Kostroma. The criminal decided that the driver had died and dumped him out of the car,” she said.
The victim survived the ordeal thanks to passing motorists who called an ambulance.
