Russian army officer jailed for burning soldier
January 24th, 2012 - 5:02 am ICT by IANSMoscow, Jan 24 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A Russian military commander has been sentenced to two years at a military disciplinary unit for wrapping a soldier in toilet paper from head to toe and then setting him on fire.
The officer was found guilty by a court in Kursk region.
The court determined that Sep 16, 2011, the officer identified as Yermakov wanted to show his superiority over a newly enlisted soldier in the presence of other soldiers.
He wrapped him from head to toe with toilet paper and afterwards set him on fire, the investigation department said.
However, the soldier was not seriously injured in the incident.
