London, Mar 12 (ANI): A newly released Secret Service audiotape concerning the attempted assassination of late Ronald Reagan in 1981, has revealed that his guards were not aware he had been shot.

In the ten-minute tape from the March 30, 1981 incident, the agents could be heard saying that the former US President was alright and heading back to the White house, the Scotsman reported.

Agents at the scene are heard telling the Secret Service command post that shots were fired and people were injured but “Rawhide’s all right” and was being rushed back to the security of the White House. Rawhide was Reagan’s Secret Service code name.

But suddenly, one agent is heard saying that the president’s limousine is changing course to George Washington University Hospital and another agent said, “Let’s hustle”. (ANI)
