Rolling Stones wanted to play like Bo DiddleyJune 26th, 2008 - 2:26 pm ICT by IANS
London, June 26 (IANS) Legendary band The Rolling Stones’s guitarist Ron wood says that his group wanted to play like the late rock and roll legend Bo Diddley who died early this month. Wood and his group toured with Diddley almost 20 years ago. Wood reveals that it was a thrill to play with his hero and be his close friend, contactmusic.com reports.
He said: “He’d lay down a monstrous locomotive beat; someone said it was like the devil moving furniture - and it would become the core ingredient of the song. Combine all that with Bo’s knowledge of the Deep South and Chicago blues and it’s clear why we all wanted to play like him.”
