Rock band Doors members reunite for documentaryMay 28th, 2008 - 2:04 pm ICT by admin
London, May 28 (IANS) The feuding members of the legendary rock band Doors, which was once led by the late Jim Morrison, will reunite for a documentary on them. The documentary will mark the 41st anniversary of the release of their classic self-titled album. The film will feature interviews with three existing members, fans and some rare footage.
Keyboard player Ray Manzarek is hoping the film will be released by the end of the year and claims it will clarify some falsities that was shown in director Oliver Stone’s “The Doors” biopic, contactmusic.com reports.
Manzarek said: “This is the anti-Oliver Stone film. This will be the true story of the Doors.”
The former Doors bandmates fell out over Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger’s band Doors of The 21st Century. Drummer John Densmore insisted the ‘reunion’ was disrespectful to late frontman Jim Morrison and took his ex-pals to court, forcing them to cease using the Doors name.
The trio appeared for a book signing but refused to appear together. They had separate events at bookstores and clubs in Los Angeles.
