Baghdad, March 22 (Xinhua) Two US soldiers and two Iraqi civilians were killed in a roadside bomb attack northwest of Baghdad Saturday, the US military said. The incident occurred when a roadside bomb hit the soldiers’ vehicle while they were on a patrol, a military statement said. A US soldier was wounded in the attack.
In an earlier statement, the military announced the killing of another soldier and wounding of four others by an indirect fire attack in south of Baghdad Friday.
The latest deaths bring the total number of US soldiers killed in Iraq to 3,995 since the Iraq war broke out in 2003, according to a report based on a Pentagon estimate.
