Republicans widen lead over Democrats ahead of Nov mid-term Congressional polls
September 18th, 2010 - 7:13 pm ICT by ANIWashington, Sept 18 (ANI): A new Fox News poll conducted in America has found that Republicans have widened their lead over Democrats to a six percentage-point margin, while President Obama’s job rating has also hit a new low.
With less than fifty days remaining for the Congressional elections, Republicans have emerged as clear favourites, with 46 per cent American voters favouring them, against 40 percent support given to Democrats; and the advantage widens to a 9 points margin among those voters who say they are certain to vote in the November election.
Two-third voters thought that elected officials in Washington could not relate to the lives of everyday Americans, and 80 percent felt the world saw the United States as a weaker nation today compared to a few years ago.
Meanwhile, Obama’s job approval rating has dipped down to 42 per cent from 46 per cent last week, while a year ago his job rating stood at 54 per cent.
Even fewer voters -40 per cent- approve of Obama’s economic policies, with 56 per cent voters disapproving.
The poll, conducted by Opinion Dynamics Corporation, involved telephonic interviews with 900 randomly chosen registered voters from September 14 to 16, and has an error margin of +/- 3 per cent. (ANI)
