Religious statesman Zed to receive ‘Global Civil Rights’ award at American Hindu gathering
June 11th, 2010 - 5:45 pm ICT by ANINevada (US), June 11 (ANI): Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed will be honored with “Vishwa Nagrik Adhikar Hindu Shiromani Puraskar” (Global Civil Rights Hindu Jewel Award) at the American Hindu Dharma Sabha, a national gathering of prominent Hindu leaders and activists, in Sunnyvale (California, USA) in August.
According to Bhavna Shinde of Forum for Hindu Awakening, one of the coordinators, Zed has been chosen for this special honor “for consistently, bravely and selflessly taking-up human/civil rights and religious freedom/equality issues worldwide in the spirit of Hinduism”.
This Sabha will attempt to bring together major Hindu leaders and groups of USA and Canada to discuss advancing awareness of Hinduism, passing authentic Hindu traditions to coming generations, spiritual renewal, preserving Hindu dharma, etc., Shinde adds.
In addition to speeches/discussions and presentations/displays, recitation from Vedas, ancient Hindu scripture, will also be held on the occasion. (ANI)
