Radical UK preacher warns of more attacks as Britain bans Islam4UK
January 13th, 2010 - 1:30 pm ICT by ANILondon, Jan 13 (ANI): Hate radical preacher Anjem Choudary has warned that Britain faces more terror outrages after his extremist group was banned on Tuesday.
He warned the “covenant of security” which stops Muslims launching attacks in Britain will break down if groups like Islam4UK are driven underground.
And in a reference to the 2005 London bombings, he asked “how many 7/7s need to take place before ministers realise such groups can control” young Muslims.
Choudary spoke out hours after Home Secretary Alan Johnson outlawed Islam4UK and the organisation it sprang from, Al Muhajiroun, The Sun reports.
Belonging to either could now result in a sentence of up to ten years in prison.
Johnson acted after Choudary threatened to march through Wootton Bassett, the town that salutes soldiers’ repatriations.
Choudary denounced Britain as a dictatorship and said: “You will push people underground. We will have no control over the youth.”
Choudary also claimed the ban was a huge victory for extremism. Many people will rally towards us now - this is the biggest favour the Government could do for us. I will wear this ban as a badge of honour.”
Islam4UK is already banned under two other names, Al Ghurabaa and The Saved Sect, The Sun reports. (ANI)
