Quake rocks Indonesia
August 3rd, 2010 - 8:49 pm ICT by IANSJakarta, Aug 3 (IANS) A 6.4-magnitude earthquake jolted eastern parts of Indonesia Tuesday, but no tsunami warning was issued, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said.
The quake struck at 1208 GMT with epicentre at 122 km northwest of Ternate in North Maluku and with a depth at 10 km under the sea bed, an official of the agency told Xinhua.
The US Geological Survey reported on its website that the main shock was recorded at 6.3 magnitude and with a depth of 42.8 km.
