Quake hits Papua New Guinea
August 21st, 2011 - 9:07 pm ICT by IANSHong Kong, Aug 21 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale Sunday jolted the New Britain region of Papua New Guinea but there was no immediate report of damage or casualties, Xinhua reported.
The tremor occurred at 1304 GMT, the Hong Kong Observatory said. The epicentre was 5.7 degrees south latitude and 151.1 degrees east longitude, some 600 km northeast of Port Moresby, the capital and largest city of Papua New Guinea.
