As Halloween approaches, the internet is flooded with a huge number of websites featuring pumpkin carving stencils. Pumpkin carving happens to be an integral part of Halloween and the websites offer many carving patterns that are suitable for beginners. Pumpkin carvings, also referred to as the Jack-O-Lantern, can be as simple as the outline of a bat or as complex as a human face. Keeping this in mind, some websites have provided the level of difficulty associated with a particular carving stencil. DisneyFamily and Nickelodeon have several designs for kids.
The instructions available online for using the stencils is almost the same on all sites. They ask the pumpkin carver to preselect a stencil for their pumpkin. The choice of the pumpkin varies on an individual basis, but a pumpkin with thick walls is always the best. In case one is planning to carve a face on their pumpkin, the sites instruct them to avoid using a round pumpkin. The pumpkin needs to be cleaned out of all seeds and stuff inside.
After having cleaned it, one should pin the carving stencils on the pumpkin. The pins should be placed on the paper along the outline. The last step is to use the appropriate tools in carving the desired image on the pumpkin. Beginners are advised to cut as deep as possible without wasting the pumpkin. Carving stencils this year include a witch on a broomstick, a bat, evil grin and a haunted house among many others. The sites that are offering really good and complex stencils are charging a small price for it, though a lot of free material is also available.
