Prior refusing to let go of ball that helped England nail the Ashes
December 30th, 2010 - 12:42 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, Dec. 30 (ANI): Wicketkeeper Matt Prior has said that for some time on Wednesday, he refused to let the ball that helped England win the Ashes against Australia out of his sight.
Prior held a faint edge by Australia’s last man Ben Hilfenhaus off Tim Bresnan.
The Sun quoted Prior, as saying: “I held on to the ball for dear life in the dressing room. My right glove was off but the left stayed on with the ball still in it long after all the handshakes.”
He added: “But the arguments over the ball has started already. Alastair Cook and Graeme Swann are still arguing over the ball from the final wicket of the 2009 Ashes. So, I might have a few years of this!” (ANI)
