London, Jan 8 (ANI): Balancing environmental conservation with the growing needs of society is one of the greatest challenges faced by the human race, Prince Williams has said.
While gracing the occasion of 20th anniversary of the conservation charity Tusk Trust, the 27-year-old British royal reiterated the beliefs of his father that mankind should live in harmony with the natural world.
‘The imperative of balancing conservation of wildlife and natural resources with the ever growing needs of the human race is at the heart of the great challenge facing mankind today,” the Telegraph quoted Williams as saying.
He appreciated charity’s initiative that saw four rare northern white rhinos shipped last month from a Czech zoo to Kenya, in a desperate attempt to save the species from extinction.
He also highlighted the escalating problem of poachers, who target rhinos for their lucrative horns along with elevating threat to turtles.
Prince Williams has been the Trust’s patron since 2005.
Tusk Trust works to protect endangered species in Africa and alleviate poverty amongst rural communities living alongside the wildlife. (ANI)
