‘Prince William will not allow marriage to disrupt dream of fighting in Afghanistan’

London, Apr 23 (ANI): The married life of Prince William will not hamper his determination to serve in Afghanistan, a close source has said.
Although he has not been allowed to actively take part in war zones, the Prince is expected to put in a fresh request for a tour of duty in Afghanistan next year.
Prince William had earlier expressed disappointment over the fact that he had not been allowed to be part of a war, while his younger brother Prince Harry, served in Helmand Province in 2008 with the Household Cavalry, The Telegraph reports.
Amid the likelihood that Prince Harry could return to Afghanistan in 2012 to fly Apache helicopters with the Army Air Corps, the desire of the soon-to-be married Prince to serve in combat operations might take a surge.
He had said last year that he had “real determination” to fight in Afghanistan, and sources claim that his marriage will not spill water over his ambitions.
“Nothing has changed since he expressed those views. He is fully aware that he is different to his brother but he would still like to do his duty,” a source close to the Prince said.
“He is passionate about his military service and unless he publicly comes out and says otherwise, his ambition will remain to serve in Afghanistan,” he added.
Military chiefs have been rejecting the idea of allowing him to take part in combat over fears of his safety. (ANI)
