London, Apr 25 (ANI): Rumours are rife that Prince William and Kate Middleton will be spending their honeymoon in Scotland.

Royal experts believe the royal newlyweds could follow in the footsteps of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer and head to the Queen’s Highland retreat at Balmoral after their wedding.

Experts believe the couple may well spend a few days in Scotland before jetting off somewhere sunny and warm.

“I think privacy will be the most important thing after all that they will have gone through,” the Scotsman quoted Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty magazine, as saying.

“Maybe a week in the sun and a week in Scotland, which is a traditional royal honeymoon venue. They can do their own thing up there,” he said.

Little said William and Kate seemed to enjoy the active, outdoor lifestyle available in Balmoral, one of the Queen’s favourite estates.

Their honeymoon period could however be shortened by the prince’s military commitments, as being a Royal Air Force helicopter search and rescue pilot, he has only two weeks leave available.

But nothing is certain, as William had dropped hints on a recent trip to Australia that he and his bride would return for a honeymoon in Cairns, so they could scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef.

Some believe that the couple will return to the retreat in the mountains of Kenya where the prince proposed to his bride to be last October, noting that when he signed the guest book he said he hoped they would be able to come back soon.

Other places that are seen, as possible honeymoon destinations for the two are the private Caribbean island of Mustique, Mauritius and the Seychelles, and Richard Branson’s private island in the British Virgin Islands. (ANI)
