London, Feb 24 (ANI): Prince William surely has a heart of gold, for he helped an injured Army pal in acquiring tickets to watch Spurs play Chelsea in the Carling Cup Final on Feb 24.
L/Cpl Martyn Compton had received 70 per cent burns when a roadside bomb blew up his armored vehicle in a Taliban ambush in Afghanistan in August 2006.
L/Cpl Compton served in D Squadron of the Household Cavalry, with Princes William and Harry when they were all based at Windsor.
L/Cpl Compton, from Staplehurst, Kent, and his fiancee, Michelle Clifford, are both keen Spurs fans but could not get tickets for Wembley final - until Prince William intervened and helped him get the tickets.
“Prince William was very upset when he learned of Martyn’s injuries and knows he is a massive Spurs fan so he made some enquiries with the club and managed to get a couple of tickets, the Telegraph quoted the injured soldiers pal, as saying. (ANI)
