London, March 13 (ANI): Prince Harry is all set to learn how to fight in an Apache helicopter.
The royal is off to a secret US experimental combat weapons base where he will learn how to hunt the Taliban in his attack helicopter.
The 26-year-old has been selected for special training at the American Army’s Yuma proving ground in Arizona, where he will be taught how to use the gunship’s awesome firepower.
“He’s spent ten months learning how to fly an Apache and now he has to learn how to fight in it,” the Daily Star quoted a Clarence House aide as saying.
The Prince will be taught by experts from the Apache’s creators at Boeing Defense and US military instructors, who have set up realistic combat scenes at the base’s 870,000 acres in the Sonoran Desert.
Harry will learn how to use the airship’s destructive Hellfire missiles, laser-guided cannons and 30mm 625 rounds-a-second chain guns that can shred an armoured car in moments.
The Prince will also get his first chance to use the Apache’s Star Wars-style “death stare” automatic targeting system.
A monocle eye piece projected on to Harry’s flying helmet means he will only have to look at a target to acquire it and lock it into his attack computer.
He will also use the Apache’s stealth technology to learn how to disrupt an attacking helicopter’s radar during air-to-air duels.(ANI)
