Powerful quake jolts Solomon Islands
January 5th, 2010 - 8:48 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Hong Kong, Jan 5 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale jolted Solomon Islands at 1225 GMT Tuesday, the Hong Kong Observatory said.
The epicentre of the quake was at 9.4 degrees south latitude and 157.2 degrees east longitude, about 300 km west of Honiara, Solomon Islands, Xinhua reported.
