Poll says most Aussies prefer Rudd to Gillard

Kevin Rudd Melbourne, Mar.14 (ANI): The latest Age/Nielsen poll has indicated that most voters prefer Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd to Prime Minister Julia Gillard as federal Labor leader.

The poll also suggests that opposition leader Tony Abbott should hold off on the celebration, as voters have said they would prefer Malcolm Turnbull as Liberal leader.

The Prime Minister and the Opposition Leader were both given a thumbs down from the voters, recording their highest personal disapproval ratings since the respective leadership coups in 2010 and 2009.

The Coalition’s thumping 54 to 46 lead on the two-party-preferred measure, and the uncomfortable personal rebuff for Gillard, will worry Labor MPs under pressure from a strong negative campaign against the carbon tax, The Age reports.

Gillard also had to fend off questions yesterday about her relationship with Rudd.

The two have been perceived to be at odds over the proposed no-fly zone for Libya. (ANI)
