Polish man given 10 years jail for raping daughter
February 5th, 2010 - 1:23 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Warsaw, Feb 4 (DPA) A Polish court Thursday sentenced Krzysztof Bartoszuk to 10 years in prison for keeping his daughter prisoner and repeatedly raping her, local media reported.
Dubbed the “Polish Fritzl”, Bartoszuk, 47, was found guilty by a court in Bialystok, north-eastern Poland, of repeatedly raping his daughter and physically and emotionally abusing his family.
The verdict comes nearly a year after Austrian Josef Fritzl was sentenced to life in prison for the death of a baby he fathered through incest with his daughter Elisabeth. Fritzl had similarly held his daughter prisoner in a dungeon below his house.
Bartoszuk was arrested in September 2008 near the Belorussian border.
Police said his daughter, aged 21, gave birth to two boys in 2005 and 2007 who were likely the result of rape, and was later forced by her father to leave them at the hospital.
