Oct 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The police has been frantically searching for a 10 year old North Carolina girl Zahra Clare Baker, who suddenly disappeared early October. The law enforcement officials previously arrested her step-mother Elisa Baker on unrelated charges, however, later she turned out to be one of the prime suspects of the case. Recently the investigators made a shocking discovery when they found out a prosthetic leg in a brushy area off a North Carolina road, which is thought to be Zahra Clare Baker’s. Zahra Clare Baker’s bone cancer left her with a prosthetic leg, however, the police will have to check the serial number to check that the leg belonged to the 10 year old girl, Hickory Police Chief Tom Adkins said in his statement.
The police chief said that the prosthetic leg is “consistent with” that of Zahra Clare Baker. However, the law enforcement officials have called Zahra Clare Baker’s official mother and asked for her medical records to confirm if the leg belonged to her. Ton Adkins said in his statement that the prosthetic leg was found late Tuesday afternoon off Christie Road in Caldwell County. While speaking about the case the Police chief said that new information led them search her home again. He even added that the police is now looking for a new piece of information that can help their investigation.
A reputed media source reported that Foothills Environmental Landfill in Lenoir, North Carolina found a mattress which the investigators later believed to be Zahra Clare Baker, which was thrown out by her parents early this month. Elisa Baker reportedly admitted last week after series of interrogation that she planned fake ransom the day her step daughter was reported missing. Even Zahra Clare Baker’s father was arrested Monday on unrelated charges of assault and writing fake cheques.
