‘Pocket money bras’ for 8-yr-olds in UK
March 14th, 2011 - 5:14 pm ICT by ANILondon, Mar 14 (ANI): Fashion giant Matalan has come under scanner after it emerged that the company is selling padded bras for girls as young as eight.
An investigation by the Sun found sexually provocative T-shirts for kids as young as three and hotpants aimed at four-year-olds.
Slogans on kids’ T-shirts at Matalan include “Don’t even think about it”.
Padded bras starting at size 28AA are dubbed “pocket money bras” because they cost only 4.50 pounds.
However, the company has issued a statement promising an immediate review.
It added: “Matalan is a family retailer and is committed to only selling clothing for children that it considers appropriate.” (ANI)
