New York State police official today informed the media that an airliner carrying at least 50 passengers has crashed in Clarence. Crashed airliner in NY is a Continental Airliner flight carrying at least 50 people; reported mechanical problems.
At least several people have been transported to hospitals following the NY plane crash. Aircraft which crashed in Clarence, NY is Continental Airlines flight 1304 from Newark, NJ to Buffalo, NY. The flight was reportedly 2 hours delayed.
The unconfirmed death toll so far is 49 people. We are waiting for an official toll.
FAA officials say 48 people were aboard the aircraft which crashed in Clarence, New York, CNN reports.
Clarence is a town located in the northeastern part of Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 26,123 at the 2000 census. Clarence is also the name of a postal district in the south part of the town with ZIP code 14031. It is named after the House of Clarence in England.
