London, March 26 (DPA) Pirates have seized two chemical tankers off the coast of Somalia over the past two days, the International Maritime Bureau (IMB) said Thursday.
IMB spokesman Cyrus Mody said one ship, under the Panama flag, was seized Wednesday, and the second ship, a Bahamas-registered vessel, was hijacked Thursday morning.

It was not immediately known whether the vessels were carrying a cargo. Efforts were underway to contact the owners, the IMB said.
