Jan 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A doctor from Philadelphia Kermit Barron Gosnell has been charged with eight murders, which includes killing six babies with scissors and murder of a woman as well. Dr. Kermit Gosnell and his nine other employees were arrested on Wednesday from West Philadelphia Women’s Medical Society along with his staffs who are also charged with killing a woman patient by lethal dose of Demerol. Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams said that the doctor used to cut the spinal cords of the babies. Along with him, his wife and sister-in-law were also charged for helping him in his crime and the attorney said that the doctor is not a board certified gynecologist.
Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams said that Dr. Kermit Gosnell gained popularity because he could perform abortion at any time. The patients were treated by unlicensed and untrained staffs at the filthy condition. The attorney said that the doctors regularly performed abortions beyond 24 weeks, which is not approved by the law. Seth Williams said that the authorities found bottles and bags which contained aborted fetuses and also the shelves were filled with jars containing babies’ feets. The attorney said that the furniture and all other equipments in the building were dirty and unhygienic.
Seth Williams said that the building was nothing but “house of horrors”. The attorney said that he would ask for death penalty for the doctor owing to his nefarious works. On the other hand, Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s attorney, William J. Brennan said that he is shocked to see the number of charges against his client. However, he also asked the judges not rush to any conclusion though he understands that the charges were serious.
