London, March 28 (ANI): Babyshambles rocker Pete Doherty has reportedly developed an obsession with Scientology after being introduced to the religion by a lover.

Sources have revealed that Doherty has purchased a several books on Scientology since meeting Scientologist DJ Nadine Ruddy.

They have also revealed that the rock star leaves his Wiltshire mansion to stay at Nadines home in Reading at least once a week.

Nadine is really into Scientology. She takes her beliefs very seriously. Petes chatted a lot with her about it. He went out and bought some books to read up about it. He just wanted to find out more about Nadine and what she believes in, British tabloid The Sun quoted a source as saying.

On her MySpace profile, Nadine reveals how she became a Scientologist.

The Church of Scientology was invented in 1951 by sci-fi writer L Ron Hubbard.

Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and John Travolta are amongst the followers of the religion. (ANI)
