Penthouse Founder Bob Guccione Dies At 79

Bob GuccioneOct 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Bob Guccione, who is best known as the founding member of the popular adult magazine Penthouse, passed away on Wednesday due to cancer at a medical facility in Plano, in the state of Texas. The news of Bob Guccione’s demise has been confirmed by his family through a statement that was issued last night. The renowned entertainment magnate was 79 at the time of his death.

The family statement that was released on Wednesday night read that Bob Guccione breathed his last at the Plano Specialty Hospital on Wednesday after a long battle with cancer. At the same time, it has also been divulged that during his last moments, the publishing and entertainment magnate was surrounded by his family at the medical facility and it has also been added that the funeral service would be held soon although it would strictly be a private affair. Since the news of Bob Guccione’s demise has come to light, condolences have been pouring from people in the entertainment industry as well as fans who have been avid readers of Penthouse magazine for years now. The 79-year-old businessman is survived by his wife April Dawn Warren Guccione as well as his two children Bob Jr. and Tonina Guccione.

The Penthouse magazine was launched by Bob Guccione way back in the 1960’s and for years to come, it competed with Hugh Hefner’s Playboy magazine for male attention which it was successful in achieving. Over the years, Bob Guccione’s magazine gained immense popularity with high readership with its irresistible blend of nude photos and tabloid-styled journalism.
