Jan 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Patricia Krenwinkel holds the record for being the woman to have spent the longest time in prison. She could be called the longest incarcerated woman in the California prison system. To add on, her record got longer today, at the time she was denied parole once again. Patricia Krenwinkel had remained an ardent follower of Charles Manson. She was imprisoned after the role she played in the horrific Tate-LaBianca murders that took place in Los Angeles in the summer of 1969. She admitted that she had stabbed one victim 28 times. According to California prison officials, Patricia Krenwinkel, went on a murdering spree more than forty years ago. To her horror, she was denied parole again on Thursday.
Although the authorities of California prison made note of the progress Patricia Krenwinkel made in her life all through the forty years that she has remained a prisoner in California prison, even then, on Thursday a parole board panel denied the release of the former Charles Manson follower. A meeting regarding the release of Patricia Krenwinkel was conducted by parole Commissioner Susan Melanson and the Deputy Commissioner Steven Hernandez. Reports say that both Steven Hernandez and Susan Melanson received letters from all over the globe requesting the Patricia Krenwinkel’s parole be denied. It could also be said that all those letters from different parts of the world have convinced the Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner to deny her request of release from the prison.
Susan Melanson told the media that she did not feel that Patricia Krenwinkel ever understood that her actions along with the actions of the other followers of Charles Manson had shaken people from all over the world, and the resonance continues even after 40 years after the incident had taken place. Patricia Krenwinkel tried to blame that her actions were a result of her love for Charles Manson, but Susan Melanson and Steven Hernandez seemed to remain unmoved by Patricia Krenwinkel’s repeated attempts.
