Passenger sets off firecracker on transatlantic flight (Lead)
December 26th, 2009 - 6:19 am ICT by IANSWashington, Dec 26 (DPA) A passenger set off a firecracker during a transatlantic flight Friday.
The incident occurred near the end of a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit carrying 278 passengers, a spokeswoman for Northwest’s parent company Delta Air Lines told CNN.
Two people were injured and one person was being treated in hospital. The passenger who set off the firecracker was subdued and the pilot was able to land safely.
